Entries cover all areas of dental practice, from employment practices to general business, and include a summary of regulatory requirements, the deadline for compliance and, where applicable, links to CDA or other resources. to help members comply.
CDA regularly monitors and updates the page to ensure it contains important regulatory requirements, including these upcoming deadlines:
- January 1, 2022: Electronic prescribing for all required drugs, with some exceptions.
- January 26, 2022: CE completion deadline for people whose permit expired from March 2020 to Sept. 2021.
- March 28, 2022: CE completion deadline for people whose permit expired in October 2021.
- June 30, 2022: All employers with five or more full-time and part-time employees who do not sponsor a retirement program must register with CalSavers.
The electronic prescribing requirement, for example, states that “California prescribers are required to use electronic prescribing data for all prescriptions effective January 1, 2022,” in accordance with state law enacted in 2018. Laws and regulations available for consultation by year
Regulatory requirements and their deadlines are listed in descending order by date and also by year, so members can research the last few years – dating back to 2016 – the regulations and how they might apply to their practice.
Laws that came into effect in 2021 include, among others, the state ordinance requiring COVID-19 vaccination or weekly testing for dental health workers and a law that extended leave benefits family paid to employees with eligible military family members.
