“Provident Salutes” to embrace veterans, military family members and military advocates
ISELIN, NJ (November 11, 2022): Provident banka leading financial institution based in New Jersey, hosted a celebration at its corporate headquarters to announce the launch of its newest employee resource group (ERG), Provident Salutes.
The mission of Provident Salutes is to embrace the proud community of veterans, military family members, and military advocates, while providing a platform for education and support for veterans in the workplace. Additionally, the ERG will develop and recommend programs to enrich veterans’ experiences, increase awareness of veterans’ contributions, expand the Bank’s reach with veteran and military organizations in the community, and provide opportunities networking with veterans across the organization.
“This initiative is consistent with our commitment to improve the employee experience at Provident Bank,” said Xavia Mitchell, Senior Vice President, Senior Human Resources and Diversity Partner. “Members of Provident Salutes will work together to identify topics, content and initiatives that will support veterans and active service members across the organization,” Ms. Mitchell added.
Joseph Chinnici, banking center manager at Provident’s Wyckoff, NJ branch, a U.S. Army veteran who served in Operation Enduring Freedom and former commanding officer of the Allendale, NJ Veterans of Foreign Wars, will serve as the group’s chairman. Rebeca Merendino, an information security analyst at the Bank and a veteran of the military, who previously served in Operation Spartan Shield, will serve as vice president.
